I can't think of a more influencial artist than Vincent either, his work & life have touched the hearts of millions of artistes, art historians, musicians, poets & even physcologists. I suspect there's a Vincent either inside us all or in someone we know...if only he knew what an influence he's had in teaching us how to see the world through his unique 'eyes/soul'....his life was not in vain, after all. Thanks so much Whitering...a truly gifted human being (inside & out)! Janxxx

Our souls are ours alone, until/ if we can find our true 'soul-mate' in life. Van Gogh didn't ...like millions of others....his soul remains his alone & private ....all we can do is to 'attempt to understand' him through his legacy of work & genius, don't you think?
