Profile Information

About Me:
I am a sculptor and have been carving stone since High School. I did my first stone carving in 1974 and was hocked ever since.
About My Art:
My passion as a sculptor involves a technique I uncovered more than 20 years ago — the precise art of creating "virtual records" of contemporary culture — capturing common, everyday items in stone. Essentially, I replicate these items on a real life-scale, complete with meticulous detail. I achieve this absolute realism by incorporating parts of the actual object, as well as custom-made stains, paints, plastics and gold leaf. It's more than art imitating life, it's art mirroring life.
Favorite Music:
Beatles, Neil Young, Grateful Dead

thanks, I am working on a pair of boxing gloves that puts all that detail to shame, it is took 2 weeks to carve them and about 30 days, full days to polish and they are still not complete. I will post then as soon as they are finished. I have them in the works on my web page www.rantar.com and blog. you could click on the link once on my web page. thanks again, Robin Antar

no problem I guess I don't really think about those casted pieces much, most of my work is original stone carvings. thanks

Hi Robin, I was actually talking about the resin castings, I guess I assumed you must have molded the stone carving to make the duplicate casts. Best of all things, Scott
