Traditionally a solution of tragacanth or carrageenan was used to thicken the water bath though wall paper paste will do (no the anti-bacterial sort).
Colour is powder pigment mixed with linseed oil splashed onto the surface of the bath and twitched about with a thin stick.
Paper presized with mordent to key to the pigment is placed onto the surface of the bath and then genly lifted off agian and layed face up on a flat surface.
This technique can be applied to prints already fixed, for a random galzed effect.
