- About Me:
- International professional painter.
Author, performance artist. I am passionate about human rights, sustainability, climate change and the visual delight of the new hubblecraft telescope photographs of space.
- About My Art:
- I am moved to transform my interior emotions, visions and my gathering of experiences onto the canvas. I work in the moment and usually with my fingertips. I have created both work that I intended to be uplifting and also some art that I wanted to be confrontational with the intention of affecting social changes. Once I have completed a painting, the viewer may gather what they wish to from it as I believe that when the painting is finished it has a life of it’s own.

Performance art – 12 original performances and most recently employed by Headlines Theatre Company in October, 2009, for the forum theatre “After Homelessness” a social justice production.
Parallel to her creative career, Laara has educated in the arts at various schools, colleges, universities and from her own studio. She has developed, written and taught forty five creative development courses of study to thousands of students during the past thirty years.

Rites of Nature 2, This painting is an acrylic that I just completed. It is a new rendition of a larger scaled oil painting 4.5 feet by 6 feet that I did in 1992 but later it was destroyed in a studio fire. Somehow this image came back to me the other day and since then I have painting six more 24 x 30 inch paintings in oils!

Hiya Laura , I was not advertising you know ? ha,ha! I am just looking at these wonderful water colours you have done and the structure of the grass??? What an effect you have accomplished . It reminds me of Withering Heights , very well done lass . These are water colour? I could get lost lost in all the twists. Your brush movements are wonderful .

Hiya larra and thank you. I have a picture of their dad( the one in the middle) as a child in his mother and fathers arms . It must be well over a hundred years old and was coloured in professionally by the photographer at the time. Thank you for visiting lass xxxxx

- Hi Laara, congratulations on the exhibition, and thank you for your kind comments re: video. I do love to dabble and have to upgrade my software soon. Your art is amazing, and I can connect to your use of your fingers as a tool, as I find myself at times hand deep into the canvas. How is Vancouver?. Weather in Ontario is starting to become spring like. I have a sister out in Ninimo, that I really must visit real soon. Actually I was going to submit to Federation of Canadian Artists, based out there to give me an extra push, since I have never been. Any insight on the organization would be great.
