but 'Mother's Day' comes round each year
Who'll take my flowers, who'll share a tear, with me.

While servants slaughtered God's creatures
and prepared to satisfy
a powerful and insatiable Master
had other fish to fry

While cooks did chop with skillfull muscle
and seared with equal care
the herbs & spices added
for a dish beyond compare

The heart begins to swell
And from those toes the tingle grows
It's time for them to dwell
With tenderness and rapid pulse
Now they must set the stage
For their hearts only comes redress
As all account each page.

The Dawn sparks brand new chapters
With colours bright and strong
Please do not scold that which is ours
If youth be yours for long
For them the colours have become

Be careful please while tiptoe treading,
This precious place is not for any
Heavy footed, clumsy fools,
With little mind to stick to rules.

While bells do sway and touch each other
Then too their perfume they will share
With those of us who really care
For everything that truly matters
In this our lives full of disaster.

Breathe in their light and heaven scent
And never hurt those liquid stems
Behold the beauty of their colour
